EVPOP workshop “Health literacy in a digital world"

We are excited to invite you to the next EVPOP workshop “Health literacy in a digital world”

The World Health Organization recognizes digital health literacy as a key component for better health outcomes, reducing inequalities in health-care access and enabling individuals to make better decisions for their health. However, the available data on the digital health literacy of the population show that there is a strong call for action as the increase of digital technologies challenges the health literacy skills of people. To achieve sustainable improvements, actions from individuals, health organizations and systems are required. In this webinar we want to focus on the challenges, barriers and facilitators accompanying the digital transformation. Also, we will hear about successful steps taken to address the issue of limited digital health literacy.

The workshop is scheduled for February 20 2025 from 13:00 – 15:00 CET, online (zoom):

Registration: Please use the link to RSVP to the workshop: https://survey.goeg.at/index.php/982576

Guide & videos on health literacy policies

Health literacy policies – how can they be developed and implemented

As health literacy is considered critical to the achievement of health, and limited health literacy is still a widespread phenomenon, the topic is steadily gaining more interest from policy- and decision-makers. To meet the growing demand of decision-makers, a policy guide “Health literacy policies – how can they be developed and implemented?” was initiated to support policy-/decision-makers and administrators in implementing effective policies and actions to improve health literacy of the population on a national level. It is a product of M-POHL, initiated and sponsored by the Swiss Federal Office of Public Health together with WHO/Europe and the Austrian National Public Health Institute.
Countries are invited to contribute to the knowledge transfer by sending a video sharing their national experiences on health literacy policy work and in implementing health interventions The guide and the videos can be found HERE.
