M-POHL

M-POHL is open to all member states of the WHO European Region. Countries typically participate with one policy or administrative representative and one research representative so that both perspectives can work together in improving health literacy. Participation in M-POHL is voluntary and without payment (pro bono).

Currently, 25 member states of the WHO European Region are participating in the M-POHL Action Network: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Kazakhstan, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russian Federation, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine and the United Kingdom. Details about national partners can be found below.

Additionally, observers from WHO European countries and Asia are participating in the M-POHL Action Network. 
New members are welcome to join the network any time by contacting the M-POHL coordinator.

M-POHL chairs and international coordination

The M-POHL Action Network is currently co-chaired by Christina Dietscher (Federal Ministry of Social Affairs, Health, Care and Consumer Protection, Republic of Austria) and by Jürgen Pelikan (Austrian National Public Health Institute). 

The International Coordination Centre (ICC) of the M-POHL Action Network is situated within the WHO-CC for Health Promotion in Hospitals and Health Care at the department of Health Literacy and Health Promotion of the Austrian National Public Health Institute (Gesundheit Österreich GmbH).The main responsible person for the coordination at the ICC is Christa Straßmayr.
